  • I began working with the triangle form while completing my MFA in Sculpture at SVA. I spent time analyzing it as a base for standing sculpture, and adopted it as a primary geometric form for my thesis. "Flight Tribunal" was an installation setting nine 8' totems within a wide V-formation. I was looking at bird formations and primal groupings. The installation balanced force dynamics, figuration and vulnerability.
  • Later, I adjusted the triangle shape to its equilateral nature, cutting black felt which I secured to the concrete bases. The triangle is so elemental, that even the cut-outs remain interesting to me. I have exhibited this several times along with the drawings. I am continually drawn to its inherent mathematical and spiritual properties.
